I am so excited to finally be a blogger! Although now that I am here, I'm not really sure how to start. The Richardson text very clearly explains blogs - what they are and how to make one. It was extremely helpful in actually taking the plunge to start. I find it really amazing that there are so many blogs available on every topic possible. It seems that many people use the blog as an online diary, airing whatever comes to mind. This is very interesting, especially since all day long I hear students say that they don't like to write!
In class one of the discussions has centered around the topic of students using blogs and if it would benefit the special ed student or the reluctant reader/writer. In a perfect world, my library media classes would all be able to use laptops! The "writers" would love it, the tap, tap of the keyboard as their thoughts, feelings and opinions fill up the pages of their "online" journals. The reluctant writers would also love it (remember, it's a perfect world) as they can stare at the computer screen and play with graphics while they settle into the task...
Nice work, Anita. You have really personalized your blog space. I like the voki! And it is supposed to be fun! I look forward to seeing what you discover as you explore that you put in here. ~Barb
